Well, we decided to do one final camping/fishing trip before I left Utah for good, and also before Andy left for the summer. We were hoping to have a couple others join us, but they weren't able to make it. So the three of us headed out Friday afternoon. Thank goodness the weather was nice. We loaded down the boats and were on the water by 3:30. Below is the front half of my little boat.
It's always a nice ride down the river towards the dam.
We had our sights set on a small island on the river. Fortunately, it was the perfect spot. I ended up using the ice tent because of the ease of set-up and take-down, and virtually no clean up when the trip is over.
We ended up just hanging out on the island for the remainder of the evening. It was nice to relax and to not have to worry about stuff. The only thing that would have made the trip better was if my dad was there. This was for him.
Some other shots of the evening. Andy had a little mishap.
The next day was just as nice. We didn't end up catching any channel cats, but nonetheless, it was a great trip.
I created this after a friend created one for himself. This simply shares my fishing adventures with those who want to see what I enjoy doing in my spare time. Pictured below is my greatest catch to date, a 39.5-inch, 20-lb tiger muskie taken through the ice at Newton Reservoir in Newton, UT.
